The Elevator Man

Every Thursday, exactly at 6 p.m. Mrs. Bennett calls the elevator up to her penthouse apartment. In her elegant clothes and devoid of panties, she’s been riding Thomas down to the basement for nearly ten years.

He enters the small shimmering box from behind. Quickly her world seems to lift and fall with enough pitch to make her head swim. Hearts racing, their mouths become dry, as the floor numbers flash overhead.

“Now! Now!” she whimpers. “Yes! Yes!” he promises. “ding-ding.” Mr. and Mrs. Bennett have arrived.
